Education
Teachers can be employed in a variety of settings (for example academy schools, maintained schools) across England. You will make the education of pupils your first concern and be accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct.
Directed by online study, our QTS Apprenticeship Route plus PGCE is available nationwide. It fuses practical on-the-job training with helpful 1-1 mentoring and face-to-face tutorials and seminars with university tutors.
As Coventry University is ranked 4th in the world for online courses (MOOC World University Rankings, 2020), you will have access to the highest quality tutoring.
Furthermore, with only six days of training spent away from school, requirements for cover in school is minimal. The course is also available for part-time and full-time Apprentice Teachers, and has a number of start dates throughout the year.

QTS Apprenticeship Route plus PGCE
Level 6
Our training enables education professionals to build on their subject knowledge, improve their teaching skills, forge positive professional relationships with colleagues, and work with parents and guardians to achieve the best from their pupils.
This programme is available for both employees already salaried and working in a school, as well as new recruits to a school. We work closely with school leaders to ensure that Apprentice Teachers have the academic and pastoral support they need to successfully navigate through the 12-month course.
Following successful completion of the course and recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), awarded by the Department for Education (DfE), the Apprentice Teacher will undergo an End Point Assessment. QTS licences teachers to teach in state-maintained schools in England, and is now also expected in the majority of independent schools.
Our QTS Apprenticeship Route plus PGCE also carries 60 master’s credits as part of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
