Higher and degree apprenticeships in Business & Administration enable employers to develop first class leadership talent for their organisations.
Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include: creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager and specialist managers.
These apprenticeships produce leaders who can take responsibility for people, projects, operations and/or services to deliver long term organisational success, with the professional recognition of their ability to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate their commitment to continual learning and development. Business & Administration apprenticeships also provide employees with the skills to manage teams and/or projects to achieve operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisation's strategy.
Apprenticeships available
Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA)
4 years
The CMDA enables employers to develop first class leadership talent. Apprentices gain an academic qualification – BA Honours Management and Leadership – awarded by Coventry University, Times Higher Education Awards University of the Year 2015. This apprenticeship also develops the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours required to achieve professional qualification and accreditation: the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Diploma in Management and Leadership and full Chartered Manager status with the designator letters ‘CMgr’.
Operations/Departmental Manager
Level 5 | 2.5 years
An operations/departmental manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring. Roles may include: Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Department Manager and specialist managers.
Senior Leader Master's Degree Apprenticeship
Level 7
A leader is someone who has senior management responsibility, and this can include formal governance/director responsibilities. They are responsible for direction and vision, providing a clear sense of purpose and driving strategic intent. They take into account market trends and environmental influences, identifying longer-term opportunities and risks. Through inclusive leadership, they are responsible for developing ethical, innovative and supportive cultures with the ability to deliver results.
They are a role model, with responsibility for those in senior positions/significant organisational budgets.
HR Consultant
Level 5 | 1.5 - 3 years
Apprentices will have the opportunity to gain a Level 5 Certificate in Human Resource Management and will be eligible to apply for Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Students will need to register with CIPD at the start of this course.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Level 6 | 4 years
The pace of logistics, procurement and supply chain management is accelerating. Designed in partnership with employers, this Level 6 apprenticeship emphasises practical applications of logistics, procurement and supply chain management theories, approaches and technologies.
We aim to develop the contemporary knowledge and skillset required to successfully manage logistics, procurement and supply chain operations, innovation, sustainability and business development in a rapidly changing, globally competitive market.

Project Management
Level 6 | 4 years
The BSc (Hons) Project Management course is an integrated degree apprenticeship delivered over four years. The programme has the flexibility to be contextualised to specific requests to meet individual organisational requirements based on candidate experience, qualifications, background, and business needs.
Apprentices who successfully complete the course are eligible to apply for full membership of the Association for Project Management.
