Overview
The International Computer Driving Licence Advanced qualifications are recognised individually demonstrating the application of a specific range of IT user skills and knowledge in the workplace, meeting employer workforce demands.
There are three self study ICDL Advanced units and you can obtain a standalone qualification in any one of them.
Course detail
Employers recognise the ICDL brand which is an internationally recognised qualification. Completing an Advanced ICDL module whether in Word processing, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint or Database software will show an employer that you are a proficient user across the Microsoft Office Suite.
Available ICDL Advanced qualifications (self study):
- Word Processing;
- Spreadsheet Software;
- Presentation Software;
- Database Software;
You can obtain a standalone qualification in any of the above three ICDL Advanced units.
Word Processing
With this unit, learners can demonstrate their ability to use the advanced features of word processing applications to enhance their work, improve productivity and save time.
Spreadsheet Software
This unit gives learners the opportunity to bring their spreadsheet skills to an expert level. This allows them to use the full potential of the spreadsheet application to produce higher-quality management information.
Presentation Software
This unit is a vital tool for learners who wish to create effective, high-impact presentations using advanced features, and those who need to be able to prove their skills in this area.
How will this course be taught
These qualifications are taught virtually online.
You can register at any time of the year within the 3 academic semesters and can move through the course at you own pace.
Testing can be done in-person on Campus in our Accredited Test Centre or remotely via MS Teams is preferred.
Entry requirements
You need competent IT skills in the application you wish to take. It is aimed at those who use an application confidently and would like to gain further skills to show they are a competent and efficient user or to show their existing proficient skills with a qualification.
Please note: you will need to produce ID from this list on the day.
Assessment
The Advanced ICDL qualification is assessed by a one-hour exam using a BCS approved online provider, i.e. Atlas Cloud.
This automated test system will give you instant results. The pass mark is 75% or more to achieve the qualification. A resit can be arranged if needed.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- You agree to produce ID in accordance with the requirements, i.e. BCS ID Requirements list (one item from list one or two items from list 2) on your induction that can be in person or via Zoom Be aware that no registrations for the qualifications can be made without ID.
- Once you have paid for your self-study qualification, the registration is made with BCS who will not refund that registration. That registration has been agreed and paid for and therefore it cannot be used by another so there can be no refunds on these courses.
