The School of Humanities is proud to present two dedicated events as part of the College of Arts and Society’s annual DOT DOT DOT showcase event.
This year, our student conference will exhibit the thought-provoking and analytical work of our English, History, Politics, Philosophy, International Relations, Sociology and Criminology students. Mirroring academic conferences, our students will be presenting artworks, podcasts and short documentary films in the Delia Derbyshire complex. The conference will culminate in a keynote address delivered by friends at Greenpeace International.
The School of Humanities is also hosting an interactive online learning experience which explores how the shared global challenge of climate change is experienced by different communities around the world. The event draws together the school’s connections with indigenous groups in Brazil. It reflects our focus on engaging with the most important, current issues around which future students are increasingly likely to build careers. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from, engage with and pose questions to, representatives of indigenous peoples, showcasing the School of Humanities’ innovative and exciting range of learning experiences.
The conference celebrates the breadth of our students’ work, while the interactive online learning experience about climate change reflects our ongoing community engagement - we welcome local schools to be part of the session.
These events demonstrate our continuing dedication to pushing the humanities into new areas that respond to acute global challenges and encourage deep intellectual curiosity.
This Showcase event underlines our international scope by creating an interactive experience that will cross intellectual, as well as geographic and cultural boundaries.
In the aftermath, both our conference and online learning experience videos will be made available online so you can see for yourself what it's like to be a student in the School of Humanities at Coventry University.
