Library & Learning Services

The Library & Learning Services is open to all students enrolled on a CU Coventry course and our friendly staff are available during opening hours to help support your learning needs.

The Library is located on the ground floor and offers:

• Computers with access to the internet and printing
• Loanable laptops
• Access to copies of essential and recommended reading, plus hundreds of thousands of eBooks
• Silent study area
• Information skills sessions
• Help finding books and resources
• Bookable one-to-one sessions with the librarian covering journals, databases, referencing and search techniques

Locate

All of our resources are listed on the Locate library catalogue. Locate allows you to search for books, eBooks, journal articles and databases. By logging into your account you can also renew any items you have on loan and reserve items that are on loan to other readers.

Access to eBooks

As of September 2019, where possible, all core reading is available to read online, for free, through the Locate library catalogue. We also offer an eBook scheme in partnership with BibliU, allowing you to have both online and offline access to texts on your mobile or tablet as part of your tuition fees.

Academic Writing Service

The Academic Writing Service aims to help you fulfil your potential by enabling you to successfully write and study independently while at CU Coventry. We can help advise and guide you on the important aspects of academic writing and skills, such as planning and structuring essays and reports, improving critical thinking and avoiding plagiarism by referencing correctly.

You can access the Academic Writing Service via open access drop-in sessions, bookable 1-2-1s, as well as some sessions in subject tutorials and workshops. To book a 1-2-1 appointment or find out when a drop-in session is scheduled, contact the Library or email the service at learningservices@cuc.coventry.ac.uk.
