University students in Coventry are invited to a festival with a difference which will help boost their employability as they look to take a step into the world of work.
CareersFest is returning for a second year and will feature a variety of workshops, events and activities for Coventry University Group students to build their work ready skills and find out more about the wide range of graduate opportunities available.
The four-day event organised by Coventry University’s Careers department will take place across the campus from 16 to 19 October.
Students will have the opportunity to attend themed careers cafes offering advice on topics around employability including CV and application writing and exploring career options.
There will also be workshops around mock assessments, getting into teaching, postgraduate opportunities and networking events.
The headline event of the week is The Big Fair, a careers fair organised by CU Coventry and Coventry University Careers which is set to take place on Wednesday 17 October.
It is being sponsored by AO and Yazaki and will feature more than 65 exhibitors of local and national employers including Jaguar Land Rover, West Midlands Police, Severn Trent Water, Barratt Developments Plc, Ryanair, National Grid, Highways England, KPMG and the NHS Leadership Academy, showcasing the placements, internships, volunteering roles and graduate positions available.
More than 3,500 students attended last year’s event, and the 2018 CareersFest is expected to be just as popular.
CareersFest is an excellent opportunity for Coventry University Group students to build their skills as they look to take a step on the career ladder.
Our main event of the week, The Big Fair, will feature a huge number of employers who will be speaking to students about the opportunities they have on offer.

Last year we held our very first CareersFest which was a huge success, and we look forward to welcoming thousands more students to this year’s event.
