The first students through the door at East London's newest university campus have finished their first year of studies after a 'unique journey'.
Students on the Health & Social Care BA course received their Higher National Certificate in a landmark ceremony for CU London, which opened its doors for learners in September 2017.
CU London, which is based at the historic former Dagenham Civic Centre, is part of the Coventry University Group which was ranked in the top 12 of UK universities in The Guardian University Guide 2018 and achieved Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017.
The ceremony marked the end of the first of a three year course for the Health & Social Care BA students.
We are extremely proud of our very first student cohort as they complete their first year having rightly invested their time and hard work with a brand new university offering here in Dagenham.
They have been on a unique journey with us, and alongside staff, businesses and the communities we serve, we're now looking forward to the next chapter of this exciting adventure.
Andy Ginn, Associate Pro Vice Chancellor at CU London
This particular course aims to train students in the delivery of health and social care so they are ready for employment in the NHS, Local Authority Services, private health provision, and third sector services.
We were delighted that Andy Ginn and our teaching staff were on hand to share an exciting moment as the students who joined us at the first of six start dates throughout the academic year completed their studies in April. We look forward to doing the same in June as our November starters complete.
