Barking & Dagenham College has partnered with CU London, along with TfL, Huawei and Saint Gobain, to launch the Institute of Technology, which will offer technical skills development via advanced and higher-level courses and higher apprenticeships.

New for 2020

Barking & Dagenham College is one of just 12 colleges and universities nationally to have secured government funding to open an Institute of Technology (IoT), a brand new, purpose-built facility for advanced technologies.

It has been designed to deliver advanced and higher-level specialist training in emerging occupations – so students can boost their skills and prepare for the jobs of the future. Technology is moving fast – so fast that your dream job might not even exist yet!

Careers in STEM industries

There’s a growing demand for skilled technical workers for jobs within the engineering, technology and science industries. The IoT aims to bridge the skills gap and train the workforce of the future by providing specialisms in the following sectors – all of which are critical to the London and UK economy:

• Construction & Infrastructure Technologies

• Creative Digital (Animation & Games Design, 3D Design, Graphic Design)
