Welcome to CU London

Congratulations on your offer to study at CU London! You're taking the first steps on an exciting new adventure, so we've put this section together to guide you through every step.

From information on how to enrol, to finance and accommodation, you'll find support and guidance to help you on your journey to CU London.

Arrival on campus

Starting out at university can seem daunting, but we are here to help you settle in. We’ve gathered some information that will help make the process easier, as well as reminding you about a few things you will need to do once you get here.

How to get here

Whether you're travelling to us by car, train, bicycle, bus, coach or plane, you'll find all the travel directions on our Wayfinder.

Find your way around campus

We have a handy tool to help you find everything you need, from university services, buildings, somewhere to eat, where to get help and even to help find an available PC. You can access it on the web and save it to the home screen on your phone for easy access. Visit the Wayfinder now to get exploring.

Late arrivals

Please aim to arrive in time for the main teaching start date. However, we do appreciate that in certain circumstances you may not be able to do so. In this case, the following support and activities are available to help you settle in and catch up:

  • Call the Student Engagement Team on +44 (0) 24 7765 6565 to discuss your options.
  • Access your online induction materials; this will provide you with an introduction to the university, hints and tips about student life and allow you to find your learning materials.

Please read our safety guide.

Arrival checklist

There are a few things you will need to do to be able to fully start your student journey.

Activate your IT account

Your Office 365 account will be automatically created when you complete your enrolment, and details on how to activate it can be found in your online induction. To use your account, go to Microsoft Office 365.

You need to check your university email regularly for important communications from the university. Please note that university staff will only respond to emails sent from your Office 365 account.

Make sure you have your Student ID card

Your student ID card is very important; it gives you access to university buildings and accommodation, is used to register your attendance at classes, and gives you access to printing as well as a range of student discounts. You also need to have been issued your student ID before your student loan will be released.

You should already have uploaded a photo for your card after your enrolment; if so, it will be posted to your chosen address. If you didn’t do so, you will need to book an appointment to come and get one in person.

If you make an appointment to collect your ID card in person, we will verify your identity and nationality at the time. Download the Accepted Proof of Identity and Nationality for further guidance.

Discover Coventry University Students' Union

Coventry University Students' Union (CUSU) will represent you as a student, and make your student experience the best it can possibly be. They’ve got loads of things for you to get involved in including sports, societies, volunteering, campaigning, media and representation.

Your welfare is really important to them, and they have their own in-house advice team to help with everything from exams and coursework queries, to housing contracts and landlords. They are available to support you with matters affecting your student life.

When you enrol online you have the option to share your data with Coventry University Students’ Union. Doing so allows you to join sports clubs, societies, and communities, volunteer, be part of the course rep system, buy tickets to events, stand and vote for Students’ Union positions and be kept updated about CUSU activities, news and events.

The most employable graduates have taken part in activities outside of their course so please get involved and make the most of your time at university.

You can find out more using the links below and make sure you visit culondon.cusu.org.
