About Us
CU Scarborough, part of the Coventry University Group, is dedicated to making higher education accessible to more people through our flexible study options. You shouldn’t have to put your life or career on hold in order to study.
CU Scarborough is committed to providing a course that fits around you.
Take one module at a time
Students study one new module per block, making it much easier to focus and digest information as you’ll only focus on one topic at a time.
A qualification each academic year
Our degrees are broken down so that at the end of each year, you earn a qualification. You can build up your CV as you work towards a degree.
We also have no end-of-year exams, perhaps the biggest source of stress for many students. Assessments are instead set by the course and could include coursework, presentations and more.
Many start times around the year
Each course is delivered in short blocks, usually six weeks in duration. There are six blocks in each year, and you can begin your studies at the start of any block.
You can study 3, 4 or 6 modules a year, depending on your course. In total, you need to study 4 for a HNC, 8 for a HND, or 12 blocks for a degree.
Regular timetables
Whether you have work or caring commitments, we know that one of the most difficult things can be arranging those other aspects of your life around an irregular timetable, so we make things simple.
You can expect up to 20 hours of learning activities per week by attending morning or afternoon sessions every weekday, leaving the rest of your day free. In some instances, you can reduce the hours spent on campus by studying for one full day, or across two evenings. You can then study in your own time across the rest of the week. This timetable is subject to the latest COVID-19 government guidelines.
Payment by instalments
You can choose to pay up front, or in 4 or 6 instalments, to break up the financial burden.
You’ll earn a recognised qualification at the end of the course, or you can decide to continue your studies towards a HND or degree at CU, or transfer to study a degree at Coventry University.
Now could be the best time for a change
Whether you’re looking for a new challenge, wanting to retrain with new skills or just missed the September boat, studying with us could be the best way to a new qualification for you.
