At CU, we work directly with you as an employer to support recruitment.

Degree Apprenticeships
Our degree apprenticeships provide the opportunity to nurture your own talent and enhance your business, in partnership with Apprenticeships Coventry University.
Enrolling existing employees, or hiring a new apprentice, is a fantastic way to inject new energy and ideas into an organisation, and build your talent base for sustainable growth and success. Your employee gains a degree from Coventry University, while the business can reap the benefits from week one.
Degree Apprenticeships offer a huge range of benefits, for example they could allow your business to:
- Grow high level skills
- Increase productivity
- Develop in-house talent
- Attract new talent
- Apply learning to your business immediately
We also offer Higher Apprenticeships – Level 4 and 5 qualifications – the equivalent to the first or second year of a degree.
Fees and funding
Levy-paying employer
If you operate in England and the annual payroll of your organisation is over £3million, you’ll be required to pay 0.5% of your payroll (over £3 million) into a Digital Levy account. To reclaim this money, you must use it specifically for apprenticeship programmes starting after 1 May 2017.
The Government will top up the employer’s Digital Levy account with a 10% bonus, so effectively you will draw £1.10 for every £1.00 you put in.
Once you have exceeded the spend on your Digital Levy account you will then move to the co-funded model where you will pay 5% of the cost and the Government will co-fund this by 95%.
Non Levy-paying employer
If you are a non-levy paying organisation the government will financially co-fund your apprenticeship training by contributing 95% of the costs and you will support this with the remaining 5%. This change in funding is effective from 1 April 2019.
