A cyber security student from CU Scarborough is gaining industry experience as part of a summer internship.
Jack Dockerty has been welcomed to CRAMS, a digital firm in Scarborough which provides health and safety compliance software for various industries, as a junior website engineer and digital marketing analyst for the summer.
Jack was given the opportunity to take part in the internship after undertaking work experience at Spectrum Cleaning Solutions, a business owned by one of the CRAMS directors, Jo Thompson, while at sixth form.
Since starting at CRAMS, I have progressed in a multitude of transferable and technical skills which can be extensively applied in the future and I am thoroughly enjoying my time working within the organisation.
Moreover, I am immensely excited to monitor the growth of CRAMS, whilst also sharing the aspiration of the other team members and Directors to make CRAMS the household name for health and safety compliance within the healthcare, hospitality and facilities management sectors.

Employability is a key focus at CU Scarborough, and we are delighted that Jack is undertaking an internship where he is able to develop his skills and gain valuable experience in the workplace.
Our unique, career-focused learning model aims to put our students in the best possible position to take a step on the career ladder following graduation. This in conjunction with work experience will make Jack extremely attractive to future potential employers.
Kay Fraser, Head of Academic Studies at CU Scarborough
I believe both the CRAMS team and Jack have benefited from this internship. It’s great working with young, creative and enthusiastic students, and Jack has certainly been all those things.
He has provided the team with a fresh perspective on the continual development of CRAMS as a sophisticated product for health and safety compliance across a range of sectors.
We are also extremely confident that this experience will stand Jack in good stead for the future as we have exposed him to many tasks which have included assisting with various aspects for the launch of CRAMS such as website development, written content creation, and digital marketing.
Whilst the work he has been undertaking is indirectly related to his degree, he has nevertheless dedicated himself to learning and developing his skills which has been very refreshing.
