Role:
My role is focussed on supporting students throughout their programme of study to ensure that they make a successful transition to a positive destination upon graduation. I support students on topics such as CVs, covering letters, application forms, preparing for interviews and assessments, career paths, working abroad and postgraduate study. My support is available in a number of ways to suit individual students, including presentation in lectures, small group workshops and one-to-one meetings plus on-line support including emails, twitter and facebook. I engage with employers to organise various event on campus to give students the opportunity to network and gain an understanding of different career options.
Background:
I joined the University in October 2011 having worked in recruitment for the previous five years, specialising in recruiting for the accountancy sector. I have an in depth understanding of the requirements employers have, the realities of entering the labour market and what students need to do to make a successful job application.
