Derrick Newton

Biography

Derrick joined Coventry University in 2012 following the completion of his PhD. He is a Lecturer and Module Leader for modules within the BSc course in Ethical Hacking and Network Security and assists with programming and other computer science modules together with level 1 Activity Led Learning. Additionally, he is a Module Leader for modules delivered in India as part of the MTech programme delivered by Coventry University in partnership with Infosys. Prior to completion of his PhD Derrick was employed by a medium-sized firm of accountants in the South-East of England and spent 18 years working with small and medium enterprises, schools, charities and the like firstly as an auditor and accountant and then subsequently as a computer consultant and management accountant. This experience informs and motivates Derrick’s interest in computer science and security.
