Thinking about coming to study in London, and wondering what accommodation options are available? We asked a few of our students to tell us about where they live in London to help you decide which kind of accommodation would be best for you.
I stay in Royal Mint, near Tower Bridge. I prefer walking to campus because I enjoy the London weather and like to explore the streets of London. I love living near Tower Bridge and the St. Katharine Docks Marina, which are both popular tourist destinations. I spend most of my spare time in the area, as it an attractive and vibrant neighbourhood.

I’m currently living near Aldgate and as it is very near to campus, I usually walk to university. However, if I’m in a rush, I tend to take a bus which stops in front of Liverpool Street station. It is very convenient for me as I can reach campus within a short time. Aldgate is very near to Whitechapel, where I can get all of my food and groceries very easily, and there are a lot of Asian restaurants nearby. I also like the fact that the area is very near to the centre of London, as I can actually walk to most of the tourist attractions very easily.

I live in Poplar, which is really close to Canary Wharf. To get to university, I take the DLR to Bank station. Then from Bank, I take the Central line to Liverpool Street. It takes about 20 minutes to get to university in total. I live in a three-floor house with three other people. There are four rooms and two bathrooms, a living room and a patio.

During my studies, I lived at home with my family in a village between Milton Keynes and Bedford. I commuted via train; it was a straightforward journey with only one change, which took me around an hour and a half. The journey was easy and I spent the time catching up on daily fashion events and swotting up on reading core texts.
