This is more than a management course. Managers are responsible for planning, organising, leading, and controlling functions within an organisation. But not all managers are leaders. This course will help you develop the skills needed to be a leader – such as communication, motivation, providing inspiration and guidance, and encouraging employees to rise to a higher level of productivity. You will graduate with a leadership qualification in the healthcare sector, offering you the possibility to work for the NHS, private healthcare organisations or academic institutions.
Upon successful completion of the course you should feel confident about entering or returning to the health and social care sector with the knowledge and skills to enhance the efficiency and quality of service provision in your area. You may also want to look at careers in related fields such as public and community health management, medical sales or third sector organisations, outpatient care and public health, support service executives and many more roles in business and health.
As part of the journey of professional and role development, students are encouraged to continue on their academic journey through access to a range of higher degrees, including PhD and other taught doctorates.
