Networking events held with industry experts
Recently at the London Campus, a networking event was held for law students to allow them to meet and rub shoulders with representatives of some of the biggest law firms in London. Sir Murdo McLean along with representatives from Ernst and Young, Merrill Lynch, Virtuouso Legal, Annua and many more were in attendance to network with Law students at the London Campus.
A keynote speech was delivered from Lead Teaching Fellow, Chris Matthews:
‘It’s not about who you know, it’s about who knows you!’
Head of Law, Dave Briggs said:
“The networking event was a great event for students. Students were able to rub shoulders with representatives of some of the biggest law firms in the industry. I’m pleased to say that the feedback was really good and I’m very excited for the bright futures which lie ahead of our students; there were several job opportunities in the pipeline for our students.”
In addition to this, Dr Beem Beeka, teaching fellow for MBA Oil and Gas Management also organised a series of speaker events for students at the London Campus. The events were opportunities for students studying various postgraduate programmes such as MBA Global Finance and MBA Oil and Gas Management to network and gain inspiration from industry experts.
Dr Michael Amoah from the Centre of African Studies at SOAS; Noël Haynes, the founder of InvestinGreen.Energy; Zain Munir from the Institute of Consulting (IC) and Kwadwo Osei-Lah of World Trade Organization (WTO), all delivered lectures to students to provide specialised knowledge and insight to their respective areas of expertise to students studying at the London Campus
Dr Beeka said:
“The events were organised to bring alive industry knowledge, globalisation, consultancy and trade perspectives. These were a great opportunities to enhance the experience of learning as well as providing a boost for future professional employability and career opportunities for students.”
