BA (Hons) International Fashion Management and Marketing top up students pitched to sustainable fashion charity TRAID as part of their Creative Industries Live project.

TRAID is a charity who takes practical action to stop clothes being thrown away by turning unwanted garments into funds and resources to reduce the environmental and social impacts clothing has. It is a sustainable approach to the problems of clothes waste and tackles disposal, production and consumption.

As part of their module, students will develop, plan and implement an in-store event for TRAID. The three groups which students were divided into were; Membership who will devise new loyalty membership schemes for loyal donors and customers, Campaign who will develop a campaign to bring more clothing donations in from the public, and Event who plan to create an in-store event to reward loyal customers and donors.

The students pitched a variety of ideas in each assigned area to TRAID, which they will then go on to develop and implement in a real one-day live event which will take place in-store in several weeks’ time. Students have been studying the topic of sustainable and ethical fashion and have previously received guest lectures from industry experts including Dr Carmen Hijosa EO and Founder of Ananas Anam, and Diana Auria Founder/ Manager & Creative Director of Auria Swimwear.
