Over one hundred students from Coventry University London Campus attended a new event Youth Leadership Driving – Entrepreneurship, Engagement and Employability in November. The event was organised by Spinlondon Network Ltd. and supported by two students at Coventry University London Campus – Avneet Singh and Naveen Raj, who are undertaking internships at Spinlondon.
Dr Hari Mann, Peter Leeson, Hanna Saad and Edward Anobah were the featured speakers. Their presentations covered a range of topics, including ‘What do employers look for?’ and ‘Employability in the modern world: warning and encouragement to the young’. During the event, there was also a debate on the topic ‘Does higher education increase employability?’ The debate was hosted by Coventry University London Campus LLB Law students, where two teams presented arguments for and against the topic. There was also a mock interview round conducted by Tim McGowan from Accenture, and the best interviewee was awarded a prize.
Kavita Gulati, Operations Director at Spinlondon Network Ltd., said:
We had an excellent audience – all young and bubbly, enthusiastic and keen to learn more. There was a question and answer session and after a while we had to request students to email their questions because they were too many. All of our internship students are very hard working, and have lot of good ideas to bring on board.”
Avneet Singh, a student at Coventry University London Campus and an intern at Spinlondon Network Ltd., said:
I am very pleased with the way the event went. It was a great networking opportunity, we had industry leaders sharing their knowledge and motivating the leaders of the future. I feel that interacting with professionals helped our students gain the knowledge that will be beneficial for their professional life.”
