World's leading accounting professional body gives presentation to undergraduate students

The Finance and Energy department at Coventry University London Campus welcomed the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting (CIMA) onto campus to speak to students studying BA (Hons) International Finance and Accounting.  

CIMA is one of the world's largest accounting professional body and offers a specialist professional finance qualification in management accounting. Students learnt about the importance of a professional qualification and skills and attributes which are needed to take up accounting as a profession. In addition, they received valuable information on renowned employers supporting the accounting professions for both internships and post-graduate employment.

The presentation looked at different areas of accounting and their interaction within a company.  Jason Nye from CIMA explained why accounting is important, the exemptions the London Campus offers after completing undergraduate and postgraduate study in a finance-based subject and why companies should put accounting at the centre of their strategy for developing their business.
