When you arrive

Welcome to London! Here are our top four things you should do once you've arrived on campus to help you get set for the coming weeks.

1

Get to know the campus

Our Wayfinder app will help you find everything you need on campus from buildings, university services and where to get help. It will even help you locate available PCs for study.

2

Activate your IT account

Your Office 365 account will be automatically created when you complete your enrolment, and details on how to activate it can be found in your online induction. To use your account, go to Microsoft Office 365 or, for more information, log in to the Student Portal.

You need to check your university email regularly for important communications from the university. Please note that university staff will only respond to emails sent from your Office 365 account.

3

Get your first Student ID card

Your student ID card is very important; it allows you to:

  • access university buildings and accommodation
  • register your attendance at classes
  • access printing and student discounts.

You can collect your Student ID from University House Reception after you have enrolled. The Reception team are available from 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00, Monday to Friday.

For UK/Irish students on home fees, before you can collect your ID card, you must visit the 5th Floor of Cutlers Exchange between 11:00-13:00 or 14:00-16:00 Monday to Friday, and bring your British or Irish passport with you to be reviewed by the team. Cutlers Exchange can be found at this address: 123 Houndsditch, London, EC3A 7BU.

For all students on overseas fees, or home fee-paying students who are not UK/Irish nationality, you will need to complete a right-to-study check with the Enrolment and Compliance Team before receiving your Student ID. You will book an appointment for a right-to-study check as part of your enrolment process. Please complete this form when you arrive in the UK so that a right to study check can be arranged for you.

4

Discover Your Students' Union

Your Students' Union (SU) is a charity that exists to make your experience as a student the best it can be. Led by students, for students. Throughout the year the SU organises socials, events, open mic nights, quizzes and much more. The SU also provides volunteering opportunities, an advice centre, employability support, societies and sports.
