Accommodation
We are partnered with an accommodation provider close to our campus, with an excellent range of facilities. With the Coventry University London discounted rate, the cost ranges from £275 to £365 per week. This covers all bills, including electricity, gas, water and internet. The accommodation is a purpose-built student building located close to the campus, local shops and amenities.
Some students choose to live in private accommodation, and if you do we will provide support. Private rent costs vary, and in addition to rent we recommend budgeting between £105 and £180 per month for utilities. These costs may be shared if you’re living with other people.
Travel
If you’re staying in our halls of residence you’ll live within walking distance of the university, but you’ll need to use public transport to explore the rest of the city. If you live in private accommodation you may also need to use public transport to travel to the university. Transport in London includes the underground (‘tube’), buses, trains and trams.
The amount you pay is determined by how far you travel, with London being split into nine zones. The university is based in Zone 1. Details of fares and daily, weekly, monthly and annual Travelcards can be found on the Transport for London website.
Food and housekeeping
You will need to buy your own food, toiletries and housekeeping products.
Personal Expenses
It is important to remember that you will also need to allow money for clothes and shoes, socialising, and mobile phone bills. You may want to consider a gym membership too - there are many gyms near campus, so we recommend checking which ones offer student discounts. Students studying at Coventry University London can apply for two student discount schemes: UniDays and TOTUM
TV licence
You need to be covered by a TV Licence to watch or record programmes as they’re being shown on TV or live on an online TV service, or download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer. This applies to any provider you use and any device, including a TV, laptop or mobile phone. A standard TV Licence costs £154.50 for a year, which you can pay in monthly instalments.
