More about Mei
London’s one of the most iconic cities in the world, and a place which I was always attracted to. Plus, the fact that Coventry University London offers a January start means I didn’t need to wait for September to begin my course.
There’s a lot more work than what I was used to at undergraduate degree level, but it’s far more practical. It’s hard in the beginning, but it’s worth it in the end. I’d recommend all students do an internship if they can.
My favourite part is that the course is so practical, which means I can push myself do things that I wouldn’t normally do, which helps me to improve more quickly. Plus, everyone around me is so nice and friendly- like one of my course friends helped me learn Photoshop, I really appreciated it!
The lecturers here are really supportive and push us to our limits. All the support staff here are really helpful and do their best to help me when I have questions – anything from attendance to Oyster Cards – which really helps me navigate daily life in London.
I love city life. There are so many things to do, and you meet so many people in your daily life. Plus, for academics, the UK is one of the best places to study in the world. I feel like my course helps me to experience the city – it’s taken me to so many exhibitions and museums, which helps me to better understand British culture, and to see places which I wouldn’t usually see!
In the future, I’d love to stay in the UK, or if I go back to Malaysia where I’d like to start up my own fashion and beauty business – and use the marketing skills I’ve learned here to make it a success.
