Professor Lisa Bayliss-Pratt, Chief Nurse at Health Education England (HEE), is to take a permanent role at Coventry University as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Health and Life Sciences.
A Coventry University nursing graduate, Lisa returned to Coventry University on a six- month secondment in October 2019 as Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor. She will now be taking on the role permanently.
Lisa had been Chief Nurse at HEE since 2012 and during that time introduced the role of Nursing Associate, the first new nurse role in England for a generation, alongside a transformation programme for nurse education.
I am delighted to be continuing my role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Health and Life Sciences after six enjoyable months with Coventry University. This is a great opportunity to grow the multi-professional education and training agenda and develop and widen access to the health and life science professions. HEE’s work is incredibly valuable and I look forward to building upon my experience there.
Coventry University’s innovative approach to teaching and learning has a key role to play in creating new education routes into a range of professions, such as apprenticeships and filling gaps in the workforce with highly qualified graduates.
Professor Bayliss-Pratt
Lisa brings a wealth of experience in leadership and innovation to our Health and Life Sciences faculty and it is fantastic that she will be continuing her Coventry University journey.
As a champion of nursing and midwifery professions she will continue her work to drive workforce development and create the next generation of nurses.
Professor John Latham CBE, Vice-Chancellor
Professor Bayliss-Pratt will continue with her role as Programme Lead for the Nursing Now, Nightingale Challenge which aims to equip and empower the next generation of nurses and midwives as leaders, practitioners and advocates in health. The campaign will run until December 2020.
