Students at Coventry University have raised £2247 for a variety of charities through their annual Student Business Charity Spring Fair.

The fair forms part of the first year of the International Business Management and Business Administration courses. Students in teams created products and services which they sold during the fair with the proceeds from each group’s stall going to their chosen charity. The goods on offer ranged from photo booths to sweets.

33 teams took part, all fundraising for different charities ranging from Birmingham Women’s Hospital Charity to Guide Dogs to British Heart Foundation.

Among the students taking part was Joao Pires, an International Business Management student from the Polaroids for Peace team, which sold its Polaroid photo booth service to raise money for Amnesty International.

Our team decided to choose Amnesty International as we are all passionate about human rights. The whole experience has been great, we learn a lot of theory on our course through lectures and seminars but having a hands-on experience has given us a real insight into managing resources, making decisions as a team and marketing.

The students did a great job selling their products and services for charity. The fair is a fantastic opportunity for students to get hands on business experience and put the theory they learn into practice.

The students raised valuable funds for a great range of worthy causes, with over £2000 being donated from the event.
