The school hosts a wide portfolio of psychology courses, from undergraduate through to doctoral level, these enable a solid foundation of psychological theory to be developed and subsequently applied across a range of settings.

The subject has been highlighted by the recent COVID-19 pandemic, with the need to address mental health, wellbeing and social issues pushed to the forefront of the news.

Head of School Dr Eve Knight believes her students will be equipped to help shape the response.

Psychology at Coventry University is an exciting and innovative discipline. Our thematic based approach to content delivery allows students to develop their understanding of the different areas of psychology in a more holistic way and to see how psychology can be applied in the real world.

This has been crystalised over recent months in a way that could not have been predicted; Covid-19 unites the world in a way that is rarely seen.

The ongoing challenges brought about by the current global pandemic have amplified the spotlight on well-being, mental health and social connectedness at an individual, familial and societal level.

Psychological factors are integral to our response to these challenges and our students are well-positioned to contribute in the future to the multi-faceted work in this field whether that be from an academic perspective, research perspective or in a more applied way.

Dr Eve Knight

The university was named in the top 250 in the Education subject table and named in the top 400 for Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics and Social Sciences.
