Coventry University Group has intensified its longstanding connections with India by opening a Global Hub in the heart of New Delhi.
The Hub will house more than 70 employees in India to support Coventry University Group’s admissions, recruitment and partnerships portfolio in India and the region. It will also serve as a base for business development personnel serving the research and enterprise portfolios and for visiting researchers and academics from the UK to further intensify the research links between both countries.
The office is located at the prestigious HT House in Connaught Place, opposite British Council India.
Adopting a minimalist corporate design scheme, the new office space includes some traditional patterns reflective of Indian culture as well as some features and colours linked to Coventry University Group’s branding.
The India Hub represents the university’s long-term commitment to build strategic collaborations in India and throughout the region and will be an important addition to Coventry University Group’s international presence.
The India Hub will streamline communication and collaboration between the university and organisations in Indian education, business and government.
Professor John Latham CBE, Coventry University’s Vice-Chancellor
The India Hub is the sixth in Coventry University Group’s network of Global Hubs, joining those in Brussels, Dubai, Africa, China and Singapore. The global hubs act as Coventry University Group’s business development centres, serving key regions and developing collaborative relationships that further its work as an economic development partner for governments and public and private sector organisations.
We are delighted to see the deepening engagement between the higher education sectors of both our countries, underscoring the continuing progress in education collaboration as laid out in the India UK 2030 Roadmap. Our heartiest congratulations to Coventry University Group on this new initiative.
Michael Houlgate, Deputy Director at British Council India
India is a key market for the group, which already recruits thousands of Indian students every year to its campuses in Coventry and London. India’s large and skilled talent pool, young population and thriving research sector make the country ideal for the group’s collaborative working approach.
At UKIBC we encourage UK universities to treat India as a strategic partner, not just a market, and nothing demonstrates this more than setting up in country to develop a deeper collaboration with education institutions, business and governments. Congratulations to Coventry University on the launch of its India Hub, which is a path-breaking initiative. I applaud the university for its commitment and wish Coventry University every success with its ambitious goals in India.
Richard McCallum, Group Chief Executive Officer at UK India Business Council
Coventry University has strong links to the private sector in India, working with organisations such as KPIT and L&T Technology Services as well as a research-focused MoU with Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay and GITAM University. The Hub in India is also in discussions with a number of major organisations in the country and the region over potential collaborations – including skilling opportunities in the Aviation and Healthcare sectors.
