Mentoring and coaching

The teaching profession is highly rewarding, but its demands can present various challenges and difficulties, particularly for those who are new to the profession. We believe that in-school mentors can provide vital encouragement, support and guidance to early career teachers, helping them to apply their teacher training to real-life classroom settings. Mentors also play a huge role in ensuring that new teachers are well-equipped for their new role and stay in the profession for the long term.

We recognise the difference a good mentor can make, and with the current challenges that schools face, mentoring has an even greater significance for all members of the school community.

We are recruiting new in-school mentors who can share their wisdom and expertise with the next generation of teaching talent. Mentoring a new teacher is a great development opportunity for experienced teachers to learn a new skillset.

Mentoring new teachers can be a hugely rewarding experience. In return for your time as a mentor, we will offer you training and CPD support and the chance to complete our Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship qualification. This practical, evidence-based course is beneficial for those who want to develop their skills to actively listen, provide feedback and use coaching and mentoring to advance performance.
