Professional Development Courses

We all know the importance of continuous professional development. It helps you stay on top of your A-game and enables you, as a teacher, to grow and succeed. Like with any career journey, professional development helps you stand out and climb the ladder faster.

We offer a range of professional development courses to help you take your career further, and find the support and skills needed to make the most of your teaching role.

How is this different to being a qualified teacher?

Gaining a PGCE and QTS are the first hurdles of professional development in the teaching field. They provide the foundational knowledge in theory and practice. Beyond this, wider institutes do not often cater for further professional development for teachers, and that’s where NITE comes in. We currently house a selection of courses and training to help you expand and develop your skills as a teacher and a leader, and we are continuously working to create new courses and training further our offerings.

Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship

An accredited course (meaning it can go on to contribute to a bigger qualification like a Master’s degree), our Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship is the perfect course if you’re looking to develop your skills in the realms of leadership. The course offers two routes, one for school mentors who offer support to newly qualified teachers, and another for those who are aspiring to become coaches or are responsible for leading and managing teams in their organisation. This course will help you develop ways to actively listen, provide structured feedback, and use coaching and mentoring to advance performance of those around you.
