Ian Dunn, Coventry University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Experience), has been shortlisted in The Guardian Higher Education Awards 'Inspiring Leader' category, 2016.


Ian worked for more than 20 years as a lecturer, associate dean and acting dean of the faculty of engineering, environment and computing at Coventry before taking up the role of pro vice-chancellor in 2010, and then deputy vice-chancellor in 2013.


His responsibilities and focus remain on further enhancing the student experience at Coventry University with the emphasis on high quality teaching, in a first class learning environment with the highest quality support. He is focused on transforming the way students learn and are taught. 


Ian is also very involved in the city of Coventry and works with the local enterprise partnerships, schools and colleges.


He would like to see that all young people have the opportunity to reach their potential and continues to do so.
