A recent Coventry University graduate has collected a Silver Pentaward at a ceremony in the capital, earlier this month.

Rob Wilde, a former graphic design student at Coventry University, produced the design for Springetts Brand Design, as part of a project for the household brand Silver Spoon. The design focused around a ‘healthier’ alternative to granulated sugar, with Rob’s concept incorporating each aspect of the brief to develop a simple but creative solution. Winning his team a Silver Pentaward

Rob’s work won himself and his colleagues this top industry award in the concept food category. The Springetts team behind the design consisted of Rob himself, executive creative director, Andy Black and illustrator, Stuart Witter.

Hosted annually, the Pentawards are open to entrants from across the world, who are associated with the creation or marketing of product packaging. Each year designs are judged by a panel of 12 highly reputable designers and packaging design directors from a selection of major companies, such as Moyra Casey and Elie Papiernik.

Rob was present at the ceremony to collect the award. Speaking about his design and the ceremony itself, Rob said:

“The design was almost two years in the making since the original brief, so I was beyond happy to win the award. The evening was incredible, held at the amazing RIBA building in London, which was a fantastic setting. Springetts did a great job picking up 5 Pentawards, 4 silver and a gold, so it was an evening well worth celebrating.”
