The newly-established Health and Life Science’s Employability and Placement Unit (EPU) has recently brokered a diverse range of multi-disciplinary student placements for Leisure Lines GB Ltd; a local company with rapid growth in international markets.
Home and international students have been on placement with Leisure Lines GB Ltd in Hinckley since the end of May, which are the largest commercial fitness equipment manufacturers in the UK. The placement project aims to support the company’s product development and growth in overseas and UK markets, with the company securing new business in Dubai, Australia, US and Europe.
Karen Quinn, Head of the Health and Life Sciences EPU collaborated with Rob Coleman, Managing Director at Leisure Lines UK to create a multi-disciplinary team of students to bring knowledge from their fields of Sports Science, Industrial Design and Engineering. Karen believes
these placements will provide students with some very practical work experience that genuinely enhances CV’s, provides students with an international perspective and could lead to dissertation project proposals, further collaborations and applied research opportunities.
