Health and wellbeing
A healthy and happy population is one which benefits from all facets of society – from early years education to social justice policy – being geared towards preserving and improving our physical and mental wellbeing. Ageing populations and rises in mental ill-health are just some of the significant challenges we face, but at Coventry University we’re transforming the way we tackle these issues – among others – through research.
Our experts in children’s literacy are working with kids with developmental disorders to create learning programmes which will help to ensure they have the best chances in life; our research into mental health and the risk of suicidality among people on the autism spectrum is internationally-leading and breaking ground in the field; and our cutting-edge work capturing and analysing human biomechanical performance is helping gardeners, dancers and sportspeople avoid injury.
These are just a few examples of our research which is making a difference to the health and wellbeing of our society. Find out more about the work of our world-leading research centres by exploring the case studies below.
