Another celebration for the 2021 Supervision Team Awards took place as part of this year’s Doctoral Capability and Development (DCAD) Conference at Coventry University.
The award for Outstanding Research Supervisory Team was given to Dr Neil Clarke, Dr Mark Noon, Dr Peter Mundy and Rhys Morris from the Centre for Sports, Exercise and Life Sciences (CSELS), nominated by CSELS postgraduate researcher Rich Kite.
The awards process invites current postgraduate research candidates to nominate the supervisory teams they think best demonstrates:
Teams from the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE) and Centre for Intelligent Healthcare (CIH) were also selected as finalists.
The shortlisted teams gave short presentations on their approach to research supervision and its impact; the final decision was made by an external judging panel from UK Higher Education groups University Alliance and Advance HE.
The awards were held as part of the annual DCAD conference and forms part of an extensive programme of events planned for Coventry’s research staff and postgraduate community. The conference enables attendees to learn more about the varied research taking place across the university and allows for researchers across the 13 centres to come together online for a number of webinars and workshops.
During the cross-disciplinary event, we were able to see the fantastic range of postgraduate research projects taking place across Coventry University. Well done and thank you to all of the postgraduate researchers who presented at this year’s conference. We would also like to extend our thanks to all those who supported DCAD21, through chairing or attending the conference sessions.
