Coventry University and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, a public university in Pakistan, have made steps towards developing new teaching programmes at both institutions.
The two institutions have signed a Memorandum of Understanding outlining aims to use their international knowledge and expertise to create a unique learning journey for master’s students and Postgraduate Researchers (PGRs) in engineering.
Led by Professor Richard Dashwood, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Professor Elena Gaura, Institute Director of Data Science and Emerging Technologies, the initiative will seek to embed overseas placement opportunities through visiting PGR programmes and the opportunity for dual awards.
A key part of IBA’s mission is to ‘undertake original research that enriches teaching which benefits business, government and civil society’. This aligns closely to Coventry University’s 2030 Research Strategy and its mission of Creating Better Futures, empowering students and communities to transform their lives and society through teaching, learning, research and enterprise.
Professor Richard Dashwood said:
We are proud to establish this agreement with the Institute of Business Administration Karachi, which we hope will create a mutually valuable collaboration, including for those who choose to study with us.
The university is delighted to form a relationship with a globally recognised institution, where we plan to use our combined expertise to shape new knowledge exchange and research initiatives.
We truly value the benefit of an international academic experience and look forward to how this can enhance our teaching and learning offering going forward.
