Project overview
The AIR (Air Pollution Interdisciplinary Research) Network is an interdisciplinary research partnership of African and European researchers and African community members, with the long-term aim of creating innovative, participatory solutions to air pollution and its effects on human health in low-resource settings in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
As part of the collaborative and co-created a series of artistic music videos and digital stories highlighting air pollution and lung health in the slums in Nairobi.
Professor Charlotte Waelde's role was to encourage colleagues from Nairobi to think about intellectual property in relation to their artistic outputs and how they could use this to claim ownership over these works and consequently greater identification with the project and its aims.
