Project objectives

In the Dancer's Mind is a study into creativity in contemporary dance.

Research impact

Plymouth University, Coventry University and Trinity Laban are working together to find out about dancers’ experiences and mental processes during movement creation.

Together, we hope to find out how attention in the mind is directed at thoughts, emotions, intuitions, visual imagery and the physicality of bodily movement.

We are developing theories of choreographic thinking and new practical tools to augment creative processes in contemporary choreography.
