thefutureworks was founded in 2005 by the Coventry University Group and was initially established to recruit and manage staff for various departments, colleges and schools across the university, later expanding with an External Division, to provide professional recruitment support to companies across Coventry, Warwickshire and the West Midlands.
The students in the Faculty of Art and Humanities took part in a competition to design a car. They were given a brief as well as dimensions to ensure the car would be industry standard.
