About us
Coventry University’s School of Art and Design has a long tradition of producing highly employable graduates, making a distinctive contribution to creative industries around the world.
We live in a world where opportunities for artists and designers are increasingly dependant on flexibility of approach within well-established disciplines. Our students can start their journey at Foundation level and continue up to PhD, as we mix cutting-edge with traditional technologies to make the learning experience grounded and innovative.
Every student is encouraged to develop their own unique practice as they work from an initial concept right through to the finished product. Our students are supported by staff that are active practitioners, researchers and writers in their respective fields.
The School’s courses include Architecture, Automotive and Transport Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Illustration and Animation, Fine Art, Foundation and Fashion.
Our graduates have won a multitude of awards from animation Oscars to Penguin book cover prizes to Sky Arts awards. Car Design News declared our automotive and transport undergraduate course as the best in the world and the International Red Dot Institute nominated the School for top rank.
Also winners of the Queen’s Award for Further & Higher Education and the Sir Misha Black Award for exceptional design education, the School of Art and Design is now seventeenth in the UK’s Graduate Prospects 2019 league table.
