Sport and Exercise Biomechanics
The Coventry University Future Health performance gym uses state-of-the-art equipment including force plate technology with Gymaware system, a 3D motion capture system and a 2D video analysis system to measure and predict performance variables that allow bespoke training needs to be identified.
Running gait analysis 3D
Our VICON 3D motion capture system combined with floor integrated force plates can be used to highlight issues with walking and running gait. This means we are able to highlight mechanical inefficacies and injury risk. We can also use this system to analyse complex sporting movements to aid technique such as a golf swing.
Isokinetic Dynamometry
Our isokinetic dynamometer can be used to assess 22 isolated movement patterns through the ankle, shoulder, wrist, knee, hip, elbow and back. Data can be used to inform training interventions and advise on appropriate return to play strategies following injury. Full reports can be generated that show progress.
Strength and power assessments
Strength and power assessments will be selected and based on the athlete’s sports and individual needs.
In addition to the services below expert staff can devise and deliver bespoke workshops and advice for individuals, groups and teams according to specific needs. Please contact Coventry University Future Health for an initial discussion.
