Work with our students

Our mission is to provide a friendly and responsive service, enabling employers to match business recruitment needs with the knowledge, skills and experience of students and graduates from the health and life sciences faculty.

Our services to employers are free-of-charge. We operate much like specialist high street recruitment agencies that typically charge fees but may not have access to such diverse, experienced and well-qualified candidates.

Our consultancy services to employers include:

  • Free recruitment* advertising targeted to groups of students and graduates.
  • Matching your business needs to skilled students seeking volunteer experience and/or paid industrial-placements.
  • Support and advice with recruitment practices including job design, recruitment and selection methods and making job offers.
  • The benefits of graduate recruitment.

* Temporary and part-time vacancies, placement opportunities and graduate-level vacancies.

We can save you time and money by providing interview room facilities at our Coventry or London locations. You can use this service to run the first stage of your interviews or your entire selection process, just enquire for more information.

Free advice on recruitment

Perhaps you are a smaller organisation, planning to recruit a student or graduate for the first time? Maybe you have questions you would like to discuss with us? Typically employers seek help with:

  • Recruitment and selection issues;
  • Basic Employment Law advice;
  • Recruiting international students;
  • Competency-based selection methods, running interview panels and aptitude/ psychometric testing;
  • Labour market intelligence and graduate trends.

All our advisors are experienced in managing student placements, graduate recruitment and careers consultancy services.

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one, we are funded by the university to engage with employers and help students. We strive to develop mutually beneficial relationships, matching the needs of employers and our students and graduates.

Master's Internship Opportunities

This new scheme will provide talented master’s students with real, project-based professional experience. Employers will benefit from the attributes, skills and knowledge of a master’s student. These motivated and ambitious students can be assigned tasks and responsibilities that contribute to organisational goals. With high-level technical and research skills, digital literacies and the ability to assimilate and synthesise complex ideas and knowledge, a master’s student on internship adds value to organisations.

Coventry University and the School of Health and Care has an excellent track record of success in applied research and business development in health and life sciences; the application of knowledge to relevant problems in organisations.

Many of our existing employer partners have already taken students onto similar projects. The EPU has experience having successfully implemented several student consultancy projects.

The EPU has expertise and can help with producing internships consultancy briefs and recruiting students with the rights skills. No matter how large or small your organisation, if you have a student internship project idea, we would be delighted to hear from you.
