Coventry University aims to give you the global opportunities needed to become a truly global graduate, enhancing your employability on a global scale. Research from the British Council and Higher Education Funding Council for England has shown that global opportunities such as an international trip or Study Abroad year make you more employable. Students with these experiences obtain higher starting salaries, develop the global skills employers require and achieve better career progression.
In the last six years we’ve been the 1st for international experiences for students (HESA 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20)* In 2018/19 alone we saw over 5,000 students undertake an international experience for at least five days.
Choose from studying, volunteering or working abroad, Summer Schools, leadership development, work experience in the UK or exclusive Turing and STEP programmes.
Please note that international opportunities and industrial trips such as studying and working abroad or volunteering abroad may be subject to application, additional costs, meeting applicable visa requirements and/or availability.

At Coventry, something which stands out majorly from other universities is the global opportunities that are offered to all students including a vast selection of activities, opportunities for travelling/tours, year abroad experiences and multicultural education. The opportunities are definitely worth looking into. My advice to students, even ones who are not from the UK, would be to always find the time to explore such options further as they are what make the university experience here so great, whilst significantly enhancing one’s CV.
I can proudly say that going the extra mile is what assisted me in believing I could achieve more than just a degree. From my year, I was one of 24 students who received a Golden Leadership Award, I was nominated for both Student of the Year and Volunteer of the Year awards and Best Club Leader for the sports societies awards.
