Intakes and study options for postgraduate courses
We have 3 entry points; September, January, April (PGCE courses only) and May. September is the main entry and the majority of our courses run. January and May have a limited amount of courses – please check website for lists for each entry point.
We offer full-time (FT), part-time (PT) blended learning (BL) and Online learning (OL) postgraduate courses.
Full-time
If you are studying full-time, your postgraduate course will usually be shorter than an undergraduate course – on average taking a year to complete. Whereas with part-time and online learning courses, the course duration will be longer than if you were studying full-time. A full-time course can be more intensive and is normally completed within 12 months.
Part-time
The decision to study part-time, full-time or online is a personal one and is dependent on how you like to study and how you can fit in your studies around your personal life and other commitments like work. A part-time course can be split over 24 months and an online course even longer, being more flexible and adapting to a student’s needs.
Blended-learning
Our blended learning approach combines innovative digital teaching and opportunities for interaction online with face-to-face contact.
Online learning
Our fully online learning approach will give you access to our world-class teaching, but all of your lectures and assessments will take place online. We provide tutor support, study materials, and a 24/7 access to our online library and the virtual learning environment.
Entry requirements
The majority of our courses require an undergraduate degree award of 2.2 or above and in some cases a relevant or related degree. We do also consider work experience on an individual basis, if you don’t have formal qualifications.

About the application process
When applying for a postgraduate taught course, you can apply directly through our website here. We do not charge application fees. If you would prefer our admissions team to support you with your application, please contact us.
You can apply for more than one course but a separate personal statement may be required. Please note, that you can only study one course at a time. So if you have been accepted for more than one course, you will need to make a choice.
It can take up to 5 working days for our Admissions team to process a standard application. If there is any missing supporting documentation, our admissions team will contact you.
Normally we can defer your place to the next available intake. If you wish to inform us of your intention to delay your studies, you can do so by emailing us on UKadmissions@coventry.ac.uk
