Graduate working for big brands
Megan Reddi, a BA Illustration and Graphics graduate, had always loved creative subjects at school and during her A-Levels, started to think about whether she could make a career out of art.
She admits she didn’t have any experience and didn't really know what different types of jobs there were within the arts.
When she left school, she decided to look for any job that was in the creative industries and she managed to land a job as a trainee graphic designer/illustrator.
She loved it so much that after working there for a year, she knew she wanted a career in illustration and decided to complete a degree in Illustration and Graphics at Coventry.
Amazing workshop facilities
Megan found the workshop facilities at Coventry amazing and advises any new students to explore them and make use of them.
Megan is now a freelance illustrator and has worked for big brands including Lush. She recently worked on a project with Lush which was commissioned by creative director Suzie Hackney for their 2019 Mother's Day range - she was asked to take inspiration from 60s fabric to create a bold, colourful knotwrap on the theme of 'Mother Nature'.
The knotwraps are made from fabric that is made up of recycled plastic bottles and are Lush's solution to gift wrap - which can be re-used as scarves, headbands and tote bags.
I love so many different parts of my job! I think the aspect that I enjoy the most is the variety and creative freedom it offers me - I love being able to work on lots of different types of projects, with so many different types of companies and people.
