China summer camp
We are excited to offer a 14-day journey to China exclusively available to all language students of the Confucius Institute. This unforgettable trip will take you on an exploration of two remarkable cities – Beijing and Nanchang. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, awe-inspiring landmarks and dynamic atmosphere of modern China while further enhancing your language skills through our esteemed partner university, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics.
You will have the chance to engage with local communities, experience authentic Chinese cuisine, and forge lasting connections with fellow students and professionals in the field. This trip is designed not only to expand your linguistic abilities but also to broaden your global perspective, foster cultural understanding, and create cherished memories that will stay with you for a lifetime.
The trip exceeded all my expectations because of how many places we got to see and how many activities we were able to take part in, like sightseeing in Beijing, Nanchang and Jingdezhen, the chance to do anything that we wanted for a day and the calligraphy and tea ceremony classes. I learned so much about Chinese culture and life. I particularly enjoyed Prof. Xiao Long's lecture on Chinese history which she related to her own upbringing and showed with clarity how much China has developed over the past 40 years.

International Chinese Day
Every year on April 20, we celebrate International Chinese Day, an event established by the UN Department of Public Information in 2010. This special occasion serves as a platform to honour multilingualism, cultural diversity and the equal use of all six official working languages within the organisation. The significance of April 20 lies in paying tribute to Cangjie, a mythical figure believed to have pioneered the invention of Chinese characters approximately 5,000 years ago. This date serves as a reminder of the rich history and profound impact of Chinese characters on human communication and cultural heritage.
Join us on April 20 as we come together to celebrate the beauty and significance of the Chinese language. Let us embrace the spirit of multilingualism and cultural diversity, fostering a world where all languages are valued and respected.
