Short-term international experiences
Undertaking an overseas experience could be life-changing, aiding your professional and personal development and increasing your international job prospects. If you’re learning an additional language, it’s also an opportunity to use what you’ve learnt outside the classroom, and get a real insight into the culture and way of life.
For the last four years we’ve been 1st for international experiences for students (HESA 2018), and we saw over 5,000 students undertake an international experiences for at least five days in 2018/19.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students have the opportunity to apply for our yearly European and international field trips. These trips are heavily subsidised, giving you the chance to go across the world at only a fraction of the standard cost.
In previous years, we’ve been to destinations such as:
- Copenhagen
- Athens
- Barcelona
- New York
- Malaysia
- Dubai and more.
These trips give students a chance to explore the culture, learn more about world-changing elements such as sustainability, and get an insight that might not be available to the every-day tourist.
We also support the faculty-led field trips, giving our assistance to ensure as many students as possible benefit from undertaking our overseas opportunities.
Be the Change
We have specifically designed modules which embed a European/international field trip directly into the curriculum. Students studying on Add+vantage applicable programmes have the option to choose one of our “Be the Change” modules learning about a key topic, such as the UN sustainability goals, and developing their knowledge and understanding whilst engaging in a field trip of their choice.
