eBooks

Flying Start course essential reading is provided for you digitally in the form of eBooks. These are delivered via the digital learning platform BibliU.

How do I access books on the BibliU platform?

All staff and students at Coventry University can access BibliU using their usual University login ID and password – you do not have to take any action to set up an account

Follow one of the links from Aula (course reading list tab) or go to the BibliU website and select Coventry University. In the drop down list of Universities - click the yellow arrow and you will be asked to login with your usual Coventry University ID and password

If eBooks are issued to you as part of your Flying Start entitlement you will be able to access a copy ‘in perpetuity’ via the BibliU platform. This means you will still be able retain the downloaded eBook on your device and access it after you leave university.

In addition to your course reading list, you will be able to access many other eBooks on the BibliU platform covering different subjects. You will be able to read, highlight and make notes in all during the year, however you will only keep (in perpetuity) those assigned to your course reading list and not the additional titles.

Accessibility

BibliU are committed to making sure that their platform can be easily used by everyone. They already have some features, such as changing font sizes and colour and supporting ‘text-to-speech’ to help people with reduced vision.

If you have any form of disability and are experiencing specific problems with use of the system, please contact the Flying Start team: flyingstart@coventry.ac.uk and we will try to help you.

Student Guide and Support

There is a Coventry University BibliU Student Guide with lots of information about how to use your eBooks. This will be available as an eBook in BibliU, so you can access it as soon as you register your account.

You will also be able to access BibliU support service for help navigating the platform.

Further information and video tutorials can be accessed from Flying Start LibGuides.

Can I access my books on different devices?

Yes, you can use the BibliU system on your PC and you can also download specific Apps free of charge to use on Windows, Android or Apple mobile devices.*

Any notes etc. that you make will synchronise across devices.

*The BibliU system is not compatible with Amazon Kindle.
