Whatever your work situation, or your qualifications, there are lots of options available. You can study online, part-time, flexibly and at lots of different levels. Whether you want to stand out in your current career or make a totally fresh start in a new industry, there’s something for you from across the Coventry University Group.

I haven’t got the time

If you’re juggling family, work or other commitments, then we know it can be difficult to find the time to study. We’ve changed the way we offer our courses so there should be something that works for you. You can study a Coventry University course in a number of ways:

You can study 100% online or at one of our many UK campuses (Coventry, Scarborough, London – Liverpool Street, Greenwich, Dagenham)
You can choose part-time or full-time for many courses
You can also start throughout the year for some of our campuses

Whilst our part-time or online courses give you a lot of freedom to study around work, you can even choose to work and learn full-time in as little as two days a week if you wanted to.

It’s too late to change career now

With skills shortages in industries including health, IT and tech, the opportunities are out there for everyone. Or maybe you might be considering being your own boss and starting that business you always wanted to.

Joshua made the leap from the army to social work, while Faustina decided to move from hair and beauty therapy to nursing. If you are a people person, able to put people at ease and build up a rapport, whether it’s retail or nursing, those skills matter. So think about the skills you’ve developed over the years – you’ll be able to apply them to a lot of different careers.

I haven’t got the right qualifications

You might be surprised. Think of all the experience you’ve gained, whether at work or even volunteering. We think that’s really important, which is why for some courses, it can help you meet entry requirements.

And remember, there are lots of routes you can take:

If you don’t have A levels or the equivalent, then you could join an Access or Foundation course
If you’ve already been to university, you can do a master’s in a different subject, you don’t have to stay focused on one area
If you don’t have the qualifications for the course you want to study, then local further education colleges can help you

I can’t afford it

Depending on your circumstances, there are a few options – including some free courses and tasters. These can be especially helpful if it’s a while since you last studied, or you’re not sure which subject to focus on:

Some courses can be paid for by student loans, so you don’t have to pay anything up front*
Costs can be spread across the year if you wish

It’s not for people like me

Our students are all ages, come from all walks of life, and from all over the world. Some come straight from school while others, take a slightly longer route. Whether you’re studying online or in person, you’ll get to meet lots of new people who are passionate about your subject. Just like you are.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in education

Some things might have changed, but we’re there to support you. Our friendly staff can help you with maths or academic writing, using the library and IT. Not forgetting our expert teachers.
