Sustainable development is a priority for us all, from staff to students to the communities we serve and our 2030 Group Strategy emphasises this approach.
At Coventry University Group, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it is central to all that we do as a higher education institution and is fully embedded within the Group’s mission, vision and ethos.
We believe that every action we take should leave a lasting positive impact on our planet and society as we look to address the fundamental environmental and societal issues we face on a regional and global scale.
Engaging students, staff and the community are fundamental to how we work and we know we can achieve greater impact through working with others.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals’ (SDGs) provide a blueprint to ensure we are addressing the most pressing and relevant issues to the university and we have committed to the sector through the SDG Accord to help guide our support for sustainable development.
One of the greatest challenges of our time is addressing and mitigating climate change and the harmful impacts this results in across the globe. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, particularly carbon dioxide, to reduce our impact on climate change is one of our key goals.

Coventry University is an active member of several Sustainability Networks, allowing us to support and develop regional and UK-wide knowledge and practice relating to sustainability. Both Sustainability West Midlands and the EAUC have mailing lists which are open to staff and students with information about events and training resources.
