A centre for education and commerce

With around 130,000 students in 31 universities, Wrocław is a hotspot for academia. Among the renowned institutions is the 300-year-old University of Wrocław, the Wrocław University of Technology, Medical University of Wrocław, Wrocław University of Economics and Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. 

Multiple international companies are investing in Wrocław and have chosen to open offices in the city, including tech giants Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba, Google, Siemens and LG-Philips. Banking and finance is equally well represented with Credit Agricole and Credit Suisse having offices in Wrocław.

With education and commerce so embedded in Wrocław, graduates who stay in the city could have plenty of interesting and exciting opportunities available to them.

A high quality of life

Outside of academic and commerce, Wrocław is also known for being a bustling and vibrant city in terms of its culture. A third of the city’s space is taken up by beautiful parks and squares dating back a thousand years as well as having 5 rivers, 12 islands and 112 bridges.

Wrocław’s low cost of living also makes it extremely attractive for students. As of July 2019 the average cost of living is 48.66% lower than London, with the monthly rent for a 1 bedroom apartment in the city centre being approximately 2,278.95 zł (£480.95/€534.20). Getting about is also affordable, with a one-way ticket on local transport coming in at a reasonable 3.40 zł (£0.72/€0.80).

Large in life, yet small in size, Wrocław is packed with things to do and even the most budget conscious students will be able to enjoy the high quality of life which Wrocław offers.
